We're glad you have stopped to see our school district's website. Our district enrolls 1,260 students in our pre-school through 12th grade system in three buildings, while maintaining an active Preschool and Child Care facility for students who are 12 months through 12 years old. We are continually working to improve our students' academic achievement by increasing rigor, while promoting relevance and relationships. We are located in the Township of Grass Lake in Jackson County in the south-central area of Michigan, just south of Interstate 94, approximately 20 miles west of Ann Arbor and 10 miles east of Jackson.
STUDENT ENROLLMENT INFORMATION FOR THE 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR
We welcome you to Grass Lake Community Schools. While the registration process has multiple steps, our school personnel is available to assist you whenever needed. Going through the following steps should be able to streamline the process while honoring your busy schedules.
Following are the documents required for registration. You may do this at any time, but earlier is better. If you are planning to enroll your student as "School of Choice", please submit a "School of Choice" application as soon as possible as your student will need to be accepted into our system. Michigan law states that a child must be five years old on or before September 1 to enroll in kindergarten.
Early Entry Option: If your child is not five years old by September 1, but will be five years old on or before December 1, and you wish to enroll him or her in kindergarten the school year BEFORE he or she would now be age eligible to enroll, you must notify the school district of your plan.

Then click on "Enroll" in the top left corner of the pageto set up an account and fill out the application. It is not necessary to print a copy of the online registration form after submitting it. ATTENTION NEW GRASS LAKE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS PARENTS -
Grass Lake Community Schools require that all parents of new Kindergarten through 12th grade students attend an informational meeting to learn about their responsibilities, as well as the students' responsibilities, toward receiving and utilizing their individual computing device. This is a mandatory meeting for which the student's device will be witheld until a meeting has been attended by a parent or legal caregiver. Only one parent of each child is required to only attend one meeting. If the family already has a student in the district, it is not required to attend another meeting. Two meetings are scheduled; one on Monday, August 20, at 10:00 AM, and one on Tuesday, August 21, at 7:15 PM, in the Grass Lake High School Auditorium. Click here for more information about the Grass Lake Community School 1:1 Student Technology Initiative.
