GRASS LAKE VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS AND THE AMERICAN LEGION DONATE FLAGS TO GRASS LAKE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
Grass Lake Community Schools would like to thank Grass Lake's Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion for their ongoing donations of American flags for our classrooms and school buildings. The photo below includes individuals who were present at this year's flag offering on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at George Long Elementary School.
Veterans present today from the VFW and the American Legion were Bud Freysinger, Larry Sanderson, Henry Johnson, and Eric Taylor. They presented the flags to Sydney George, Natalie Kulka, and Shelby Ellis, who raise and lower the flag everyday at George Long Elementary School; to Girl Scout Megan Taylor and Boy Scout Wesley Good from Grass Lake Middle School, who also handles the outside flag duties at the Middle School, and to Eagle Scout Josh Wollet from Grass Lake High School. (See photo below)
We are very proud of our veterans and their families for all that they have done and do for our community and our country. We appreciate their generosity to our schools for continually supplying us with American Flags.
We would also like to share our pride toward GLHS Junior Josh Wollet for attaining the level of Eagle Scout during this past year. Josh's project included the planning and implementation of an outdoor beautification project at the Coe House Museum. We are proud of Josh for all of his work in making Eagle Scout in 2015. He is the son of Judy Crouch Wollet. Well done Josh!
