  • Forensics Team Finds Success At Avondale

    GLHS Forensics Advisor Mrs. Janz reports that the team traveled to Avondale High School to compete at the highly competitive Ninjatational tournament. Congratulations to Rebecca Rigg and Elle Durkee who placed 6th in Duo Interpretation. Elsa Miller who placed 4th in Oratory. Honorable mentions to Chris Pongracz (Prose Interpretation) and Ruby Bernhard (Dramatic Interpretation - not pictured) that placed them just short of breaking into the semi-finals, but lead the team to a fourth place finish in the small team category.   • GRASS LAKE STUDENTS ROCK THE 2018-2019 STANDARDIZED TESTS!

    Congratulations to our Grass Lake Community Schools students and teachers as we review the results of standardized testing that was completed during the 2018-2019 school year. The growth among our students' proficiency levels, and our leadership in Jackson County, as well as our overall positive comparisons with all other State of Michigan school districts, illustrate very positive academic growth in our students' preparation for their successful futures.     All Grass Lake Community Schools Kindergarten through 12th grade students are eligible to receive individual personal computing devices.   • GLHS Class of 2019 Tops Jackson County with SAT Scores

    Congratulations to the Grass Lake High School Graduating Class of 2019 for achieving the highest composite Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) score in Jackson County. The composite score is a combination of the SAT Math score and the SAT English score. This class also had the highest scores in these who individual categories compared to all other Jackson County schools. Way to go Class of 2019!     On Saturday, March 7, Grass Lake High School teacher Dylan Chapman made a presentation about Esports to members of the Jackson County Association of School Boards at Grass Lake High School. Mr. Chapman is the co-founder of the Michigan High School Esports Federation, and is the advisor for the GLHS Esports team. Thank you to Mr. Chapman for sharing his experiences with this group.
