Low Cost Health Insurance Available for Eligible Families
Michigan Health Insurance for Children (MIChild) is a low cost health insurance program, designed for Michigan residents that meet eligibility requirements that are based on household income limits. MIChild is for uninsured children of Michigan's working families. Their health care services are provided by many top Michigan HMO and other top health plans located in Michigan. MIChild covers: Check-ups, shots, emergency care, dental care, prescriptions, hospital care, vision & hearing, pre-natal care, mental health and substance abuse and more.
To qualify, your child must: Be a Michigan resident, be under age 19, be currently uninsured, meet income requirements, and be a US citizen. Click here to apply for MIChild insurance.

Central Michigan 2-1-1If you need to locate health and human services in the Central Michigan area, we're here to help. Our Information and Referral specialists are trained to give you the information you need, when you need it.á Whether you're looking for help with a utility bill, seeking local food resources or you just want to know how you can help out, it's our job to keep you informed of the resources available to you.á All it takes is dialing 2-1-1 in Ingham, Eaton, Clinton, Jackson, Hillsdale, Lenawee and Livingston counties. In the near future, we'll also be taking calls from Genesee and Shiawassee counties.
St. Vincent de Paul - The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is committed to responding to the needs of individuals and families who find themselves in difficult circumstances. Our goal is to offer assistance that recognizes the respect and dignity of those we encounter, addressing short-term needs as well as longer-term issues. To help people meet the variety of challenges facing them, the Society provides basic assistance for financial, food, clothing, transportation, medical, or other needs. Hope Ministries - Hope Ministries is run through Family Worship Center and exists to offer help in conjunction with what is provided through the Grass Lake Ministerial Association.á Hope Ministries also sponsors a 'Day of Hope' on the fourth Saturday of every month that offers, free of charge, a selection of items that cannot be purchased under Bridge Card and WIC programs along with information on Jackson County resources that may be of help in a family's time of need. Immanuel Lutheran Church Food Pantry - We are a little different than your run-of-the-mill food pantry. We don't have any rules or regulations. We are open from 9:30am to 11:30am. We ask that first-time visitors fill out a form that asks if it is their first time and their name and address. We don't share this information with any one. (517) 782-6081. 1505 W. Harmony Baptist ChurchAt Harmony Baptist Church, we are God's Community Service Center helping those in need through our food and clothing ministries along with reaching out into the community with various activities and events. 6475 Ann Arbor Road, just east of the Sargent Road/Ann Arbor Road intersection. 517764-0342.

Catholic Charities of Jackson County (CCOJC)á is a non-profit agency that serves all of Jackson County.áá CCOJC's mission is to Provide Help and Create Hope for those in need.á The agency provides aá Personal Needs and Linen Closet every Friday from 9am to noon.á Families are limited to one visit per month and 5 items per family member.á No proof of income required and all family members need not be present.á The Personal Needs and Linen Closet offers everything from toilet paper, deodorant, laundry soap, and dish soap to pillows, sheets, blankets and other linens.á It fills the gap between what food pantries and bridge cards provide.á For more information, or to donate items, please contact Lisa Gross at 517-262-0466 or visit their website at www.ccjax.org .
