We're glad you have stopped to see our school district's website. Our district enrolls over 1,250 students in our pre-school through 12th grade system in three buildings. We are continually workingáto improve our students' academic achievement by increasing rigor, while promoting relevance and relationships with our students.áWe are located in the Township of Grass Lake in Jackson County in the south-central area of Michigan, just south of Interstate 94, approximately 20 miles west of Ann Arbor and 10 miles east of Jackson. GLMS and GLHS Achieve Green School Status
Congratulations to the staffs and students at Grass Lake Middle School and Grass Lake High School for being named as Green Schools my Michigan Green Schools. Grass Lake Middle School achieved "Evergreen" status, the highest award, while Grass Lake High School achieved "Emerald" status, which is the second highest award, followed only by "Green" status. GL Schools Receive Grant for K-12 1:1 Initiative
Grass Lake Community Schools will embark on the utilization of $1.89 million in grant money to provide computing devices for all Grass Lake Kindergarten through 12th grade students some time during the 2016-2017 school year. Common School Calendar Approved for 2016-2017 School Year
Through the approval of 13 Boards of Education in Jackson County, and the approval of a waiver from the Michigan Department of Education to begin school before Labor Day for the next three years, plans are now in place to begin the 2016-2017 school year on Wednesday, August 24, with the final day of the school year to be Thursday, June 8, barring any requirements to make up days for weather, etc. (see more)á

Thank You Mobil and Kelly Express Mart
Grass Lake High School would like to thank Mobil and Kelly Express Mart for the donation of $500 in grant funds for our FIRST Robotics Team. FIRST Robotics is an after school activity for students interested in building, design, engineering, and competing against other schools.á With the help of generous gifts such as this, our students are able to enjoy this wonderful program to its fullest potential.
